Mere Pyare Arunachal ke Wasiyon,
On the historic occasion of 66th Republic Day, I deem it a great privilege to extend my hearty greetings to the beloved people of Arunachal Pradesh and pay rich tributes to all those great souls whose struggle and sacrifices made India sovereign, socialist, secular and democratic republic.
In the last few years, we have brought about a remarkable positive change in the development trajectory of our State. A number of people centric welfare programmes have been initiated keeping in minds the immediate requirements of our masses. We have prioritized the social sectors like Health, Education and skill development and employment generation in our approach.
While the implementation of ambitious Arunachal Pradesh Universal Health Insurance Scheme is in full swing with enrolment of more than 70% of the state’s population, where each family gets medical cover of Rs. 2 Lakhs per annum, the state government has recently launched another important programme under education sector called CM's Global Education Programme. This programme is aimed at providing high-tech education to the students of Arunachal Pradesh using Google technology. Special impetus is being laid to skill our youths first and then gainfully employ them through our Skill Development and Employment Generation programmes. This programme has been extended to all the districts as well.
At the same time, it has been a consistent effort of the state government to provide its citizens transparent, responsive and responsible governance. We became one of the few states in the country to enact Lokayukta, which is aimed to empower people. I take the pride to inform you that our state was adjudged one of the best performing states in terms of devolution of power to PRIs and Urban Local Bodies and stood at 5th rank in all India ranking amongst the state.
We received India’s Best Project -2014 award for implementation of Skill Development and Employment Generation programme, besides clinching the Krishi Karman Award for the second consecutive term for increase in food grain production.
We have taken all possible steps to ensure law and order and peace in the State and we shall continue to do so. Safety of women and girls has been taken care of apart from introducing Police Control Room Vehicles for effective policing.
We have adopted a vibrant and pragmatic State Sports Policy, which is providing adequate incentives to sportspersons and boost sporting events in the state. Apart from increasing the reservation of jobs under sports quota, International standard stadiums are being constructed in selected locations. I am happy that our youths have excelled in the field of games and sports and brought so many laurels to the state and country by winning several medals in National as well as International competitions. I on behalf of the people of Arunachal Pradesh congratulate them all and assure that the government shall do every bit to encourage them to achieve newer heights.
There will be a visible change in approach towards our efforts in promoting Arunachal as a tourist destination. We have categorized areas on religious tourism, adventure, cultural, health, research and nature tourism to attract tourists of varied tastes.
Connectivity and infrastructural development has been another important area where the State Government is putting a holistic approach.
I dedicate the year 2015 to the people of Arunachal Pradesh, with each of our development effort being singularly targeted at ensuring common good particularly for those who can’t secure future of their own.
Let us take a pledge today to stand united against all forces inimical to peace and tranquility of the State and contribute our bit for sustainable development of Arunachal Pradesh.
Together we will do it !
Jai Hind, Jai Arunachal !
